Job Title: PT Food Lion To Go AssociateJob Code: 497Department: Front EndReports To: FT Food Lion To Go ManagerPrimary Purpose: Provide fast, easy, flexible and friendly service to our customers through the achievement of Food Lion customer service standards.
Responsible for assisting the Food Lion To Go Manager in maintaining standards according to Food Lion's standard practice manual.
Maximize sales through excellent customer service.
Duties and Responsibilities: Smiles, greets each customer, uses name whenever possible and provides prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experienceExhibit behaviors that align with Food Lion's guiding principles, core values, vision, and strategyAbility to shop multiple customer orders simultaneously, while accurately matching all items from the on-line shopping listRecognize or differentiate between all types of produce carried in the store, including differences between varieties of similar classes of products (e.g., apples, lettuce, etc.)Substitute items when requestedRecord on designated forms any price discrepancies and/or not on file items that are encountered, request price checks promptly on any such items according to company policyScan, bag, and label the purchase efficiently and accurately, while following established company policy and procedureVerify all customer IDs presented and observe store policies pertaining to the acceptance of checks and sale of tobacco and alcoholic beveragesHandles the payment transaction (cash, checks, coupons, gift cards, partner cards, food stamps WIC, etc.) per standard practiceUnderstands and follows procedures for refunds, error correction, overrides and makes every attempt to maintain accurate cash controlAssist customers picking up orders at the drive thruIs courteous and helpful to other associatesWears the Food Lion uniform with apron, complete with name badge, when on duty, has a neat and clean appearance while adhering to the Food Lion dress codeControls store’s expenses through proper use of store supplies such as receipt tape, bags and cleaning suppliesAdheres to all company guidelines, policies and standard practicesObserves and corrects all unsafe conditions that could cause associate or customer accidentsNotify QA of any cleaning issues or maintenance required on front endSuccessfully complete Computer Based Training (CBT) and Training Aid coursesSupport Front End operations as needed.
Duties may include:Greet each customer and uses his or her name whenever possibleIdentify customers needing assistance and offers to take the customer’s order to their carRetrieve shopping carts from the parking lot and cart corrals utilizing the tether strap per standard practiceReport any register or FL2GO equipment malfunction to the Customer Service Manager or MODPerforms all other duties as assignedMust be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodationsQualifications: High school graduate or equivalent preferredGood interpersonal, communication and customer service skillsPassionate about foodDesire to work in a team environmentAbility and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the jobMust meet minimum age requirements, when applicable, to perform specific job functionPhysical Requirements: Ability to use computers and other communication systems required to perform job functionsPerform repetitive hand and arm motionsBend and lift products weighing up to 15 lbs.
