Job Summary: The Nursing Assistant's primary function is to provide basic patient care under the direction of nursing staff.
This position will perform duties such as feed, bathe, dress, groom, change linens, and move residents as directed or needed.
As a L1MA/ CMT, this position will administer medications as directed.
Essential Functions / Duties:
Provide direct resident care as assigned, conduct resident rounds daily, and perform nursing care as noted below:
Answer call lights within designated timeframe.
Give care to all residents assigned; make rounds on all residents; check soiled linens and side rails.
Change incontinent residents; wash and dry soiled residents.
Walk ambulatory residents; this includes taking them to the bathroom.
Give tub baths, showers, or bed baths to residents.
Complete oral hygiene and toileting.
Turn and reposition all bed and chair residents.
Complete charting on residents.
Complete food percentage, intake and output, bowel, and bladder records.
Review care plans, update and document nurse aide flow sheets with relevant information; document in nursing assistant notes and nurse aide flow sheets the care and treatment provided to the resident and the resident's response or lack of response to care provided.
Responsible for the safety of residents under his/her supervision.
Listen to resident, family, or physician concerns and initiate corrective action and/or report concerns to Charge Nurse and Unit Nurse Manager.
Sort and remove articles from washers and dryers; hang, fold, and stack garments and linens; distribute clothes to resident's rooms without error.
Education and Experiences: Prior experience in a similar working environment is preferred, but not a requirement of the position.
This position requires a certificate as a Nurse Aide or Medication Technician in the State of Missouri and to be listed as a Nurse Aide or Medication Technician in the Missouri Department of Health and Environment Registry.
Must be CPR certified.
