Job Description

Dave & Buster’s is expanding the amount of entertainment programming and attractions offerings to make all D&Bs more fun, and we’re starting in Dallas with a brand new Entertainment Lounge concept.

The Entertainment Promotions Manager for the Dallas location will be directly responsible for programming, executing and promoting the first events in the Entertainment Lounge, as well as parties, shows and other activations that will impact the entire store.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILTIES AND EXPECTATIONS

Local Event Promotion

We can plan the greatest events in the universe, but if we don’t send out any invitations we can’t expect to draw a crowd.

Promoting the new events throughout the Dallas market will be one of the most important aspects of this role, with responsibilities including managing the below:

Event Listings

o Ensure events are being listed in Do214, Culturemap, VisitDallas.com, Thrillist, etc

Publicity Campaigns

o Manage press relations, including crafting and delivering press releases, developing pitches, generating and managing press lists, building effective relationships with media representatives, and maintaining a press material archive

o Serve as the face of the brand for local TV appearances, interviews

o Invite and manage local press and influencers attending entertainment events

Social Media

o Manage social media channels, including regular posts, communication with guests, and paid campaigns targeting appropriate demographics

o Oversee local paid campaign budgets with an eye to total ROI of successful events

Local Influencer Partnerships

o Engage in direct outreach to influencers of all stripes, from traditional city-based explorers to foodies, fan clubs and more

In-Store Displays

o Ensure promotional signage is displayed beautifully

DFW Email Campaigns

o Manage and send email campaigns to multiple demographics promoting Dallas events

Direct Group Outreach

o Seek and find Alumni Groups / Fan Clubs of all kinds and show them the magic of watching their favorite events on our 40-foot Wow Wall screen as well as events in the Entertainment Lounge

Local Event Execution

Now that we’ve got the crowd excited, and our RSVPs and ticket sales are at capacity, it’s time to manage the execution of the events, and the entire Entertainment Experience in the venue.

This will include:

AV Presentation

o Setting TV Channels for the Day, determining which content is on which screens

o Setting Audio Levels in All Sections of the Store

o Running Custom Content on Screens

 Playing movies, hosting TV premieres, music video dance parties

 Operating streaming devices, laptops, Blu-ray players, etc

 Swapping HDMI inputs from satellite to custom device

 Managing the control of all AV and lighting in the Entertainment Lounge

Activating National Events

o Distributing Props

 Multiple interactive events will involve props and other items for guests to enjoy throughout the event, and you’ll make sure they can get access to what they need to have the most FUN possible

o Ensuring Décor and Photo Booths Set Up

 Set the scene with custom-made inflatables, bring in some potted trees, build an interactive photo booth, and make sure marketing messages on window clings, coasters, and more are beautifully displayed to enhance the events

o Managing Emcees

 Hire, schedule, and manage a group of emcees to host audiences through movie parties, dance parties, sports watching parties, team building events and more

o Hosting Events

 Serve as emcee for select events, acting as the “news anchor” for the store and building a direct relationship with guests

o Coordinating Specialty Menu Items with Kitchen and Bar

 Custom events get better with special food and drink offerings, and as we pilot these programs you’ll work with the Dallas kitchen team to help craft and improve those items

Local Event Programming

Sure, you’ll work with the national team stationed at D&B’s WHQ for a variety of events that will be happening at multiple venues, but there will also be Dallas-specific entertainment to curate and create, and you’ll lead that charge, hiring performers, commissioning artists, and building a stable of entertainment events covering comedy, music, trivia, game shows, bingo, movies, TV, and more.

This position will enjoy significant creative freedom to:

Ideate Custom Events

o Create a brand-new style of event, or just build a Movie Party for one of your favorites

o Make big screen entertainment that’s blended with live performances for Ted Talk-style PowerPoint parties, Crafternoons

Booking & Managing Local Talent

o Bring in the best cover bands and more live music

o Hire stand-up comics, improvisers, and sketch comedians

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, REQUIRED SKILLS

Knowledge of the Dallas creative and entertainment scenes and local media as well as social mediaMust be comfortable in front of crowds and a strong public speaker, previous live entertainment experience would also be a plusPrevious experience in PR agency and / or bar and nightclub entertainment preferredExtremely organized with outstanding project management skillsConfident communicator with strong interpersonal and people skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
