The Communications & Knowledge Management Coordinator develops and coordinates communications, public relations, advertising and marketing initiatives for the Hawai‘i Keiki Program.
Champions & ensures structured organization-wide knowledge sharing, so that the organization's know-how, information and experience is shared inside and, as appropriate, outside the organization with partners and stakeholders.
While usual hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, the schedule is flexible upon supervisor's agreement.
Occasional extended hours/weekends to be worked as needed.
The program office is based at the University of Hawaii at Manoa campus.
Regular, recurring remote work is available upon coordination and agreement with the position's supervisor.
Occasional travel related to offsite meetings or events.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS
Organize content on Google Shared Drives and Intranet with a systematic approach to facilitate the sharing of information and archival of historical documents while ensuring content is easily retrieved as needed.
Train/educate staff on knowledge management practices, systems and tools.
Responsible for drafting, editing and proofing materials for all internal and external communications and marketing, such as newsletters, brochures, fact sheets, flyers, signage, posters, and other public relations materials.
Creates and manages/monitors social media accounts with approved communications, media content and coordinates a response to online inquiries and comments, when appropriate.
Responsible for writing press releases, news stories, and articles for other publications.
Promote the Hawai‘i Keiki Program by communicating consistent messages across print, electronic and social media in alignment with University of Hawaii at Manoa Nancy Atmospera-Walch School of Nursing (NAWSON) and DOE brand and values.
Create and distribute mass email marketing communications to various stakeholder groups.
Collaborate with NAWSON Marketing Manager, DOE Communications, and UHP Communications in the development of communications, public relations, advertising and marketing goals to best educate the public about the Hawai‘i Keiki Program and to promote school health nursing in public schools.
Coordinate and develop recruitment advertising with targeted online and print media.
Act as a project manager for the production of videos and photo shoots, and coordinate scheduling with videographers or multimedia specialists.
Develop, organize and maintain photo and video library content, and media releases.
Coordinates with the Hawaiʻi Keiki spokesperson, NAWSON, DOE and UHP communications contacts for all media engagements.
Edits and manages the content on the public website and collaborates with the NAWSON marketing manager to ensure timely updates.
Sourcing and procuring marketing products for branded uniforms, promotional giveaways and internal appreciation gifts.
Coordinates events including but not limited to press conferences, tabling at recruitment fairs or professional conferences, etc.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Communications, or related field.
Three years experience in marketing and/or communications.
